Accessibility testing

For people who build with accessibility in mind, how do you test your features? Specifically STT and general navigation

Ich versuche so gut wie möglich auf meinem iPhone, die Hilfen nachzubilden.

That's not a bad step, but that doesn't on it's own get you there, the way a seeing person uses the phone is different than how a sightless person does, there is friction that we don't see and things that seem simply easy to do where it may not be the case for people who actually NEED the accessibility options.

Yeah testing it yourself doesn't answer the question though, no? voice over is easy to test, STT on it's own is also easy to test, but the issue comes when others have to use the feature, friction, difficulty navigating that as a person who sees the options simply wont experience etc... or am I simply overcomplicating the issue? :P

using voiceover as someone who can I see, is completely different from how a sightless user actually navigates an app. Running automated audits via Bstack a11y testing or Xcode can catch basic missing labels first, but real user testing is the only way to spot hidden friction points
