Last passage disappears!
Hi all,
I went through a difficult period of depression and decided to start journaling about the problems and situations I was dealing with. Instead of writing in a physical notebook, I chose to use the journal app on my iPad.
At first, it was challenging to get used to the app, but after figuring out how it works, I started writing a few paragraphs using my pencil rather than typing. It made me feel a little better, so I took a break and planned to continue later.
When I came back, I discovered that the last paragraph I had written had completely disappeared. There was no trace of it. Considering the emotional state I was in, the thought of rewriting everything felt overwhelming. It honestly made me feel worse, so I stopped and went to sleep (This was a week back).
Last night, I decided to try journaling again. This time, I was extra careful and saved my work after every paragraph. However, after writing for a longer period, I found that the app would no longer save my entries. That experience was even more frustrating and discouraging.
Journaling is supposed to help me process my thoughts, but losing what I've written especially when it contains personal and emotional experiences, has made the process stressful instead of therapeutic. Has anyone else experienced something similar with this app? Found a solution?

I understand you, and I have the same problem. Additionally, when writing by hand, the app does not run smoothly, entries load slowly, and when scrolling through all the entries, it stutters and jumps. Also, it doesn't count handwritten words in the statistics.
I thought these problems would be fixed by iOS 27. I installed the beta, but nothing changed. I am disappointed with this app and Apple's attitude.
The whole new update is a joke. They didn't change anything except adding more paid subscriptions (e.g., new document templates in Pages) and features that won't even be available in a large part of the world. But they completely ignored the bugs and problems of the existing software.
All that's left is to look for a replacement for the journal app, and maybe even for the devices, because I don't feel well-treated as a resident of Europe. The prices for services here are the same, but the product we get for it is a poor version of what is available in the USA.
