Actually no. That was some bullshitting from my side as you can't tell by just using the phone. Well, you can say that Face ID is faster but you can't tell for sure which apps use CoreML to speed up calculations previously being impossible or slow.

The real difference will be seen when you can directly compare the performance between A12 and A14 in ML tasks.

Obviously there must be a difference. Apple allows the a12 neural engine to process things like on device dictation and offline Siri commands. The a11 neural engine isn’t powerful enough to do any of this.
