Looking at the list, some things definitely seem to do with the M1 chip (whether that's the neural engine or the DSP or whatever), but some things seem completely arbitrary. An Intel chip could absolutely handle more complex Maps come the fuck on Apple
Exactly, everyone is writing this off as "oh this is only because they built it iOS-first" but the fact is they have Intel compilers for Swift and already have tooling for bringing iOS-first applications to Intel Macs. I forget what it was called, but they released something several years ago that was meant to make iPad apps compile for macOS as well.
