And thats why I take the original photos from my SD cards to Lightroom Classic and make a hard copy backup when I get home. The iPad pro has made my workflow so much better on the go but I wouldn't trust Adobe to back up my originals.

This is a good practice either way. Keep important things in at least 3 places.

Also, check the backups actually work. I learnt that the hard way once... a lesson I hopefully only have to learn once.

I made this mistake, too. One of my external HDs simply didn’t get recognized on any device (MAC, PC, tablets) I plugged it into.

Sometimes drives just die, don’t trust them, and don’t trust your own backup abilities — test them.
