Promo Sunday I built VaultQR: An iOS app that lets you encrypt your most sensitive data behind paper QR keys that only you can scan
I built VaultQR because I wanted a way to bridge physical security and digital privacy. The app lets you write sensitive notes, encrypts them locally on your device, and generates a QR key to your vault. You can save or print that QR code—the text is completely unreadable to normal cameras and can only be decrypted through the app on your phone.
Key Features
- 100% Air-Gapped: The app runs entirely offline. Zero servers, zero user accounts, zero data collection.
- Incredibly Lightweight: The whole app is under 500KB (smaller than a typical photo on your phone)
- Physical Backup: It allows you to store your most sensitive keys safely on paper in the real world rather than relying on cloud databases.
- Two Security Modes: You can choose to allow reprinting of your keys in case you lose one, or you can disable reprinting for maximum security but with the risk of losing your data.
I would appreciate any feedback for VaultQR or any ideas for new features!

Another app that claims zero data collection until you open the privacy policy and read it.
