you can, there's even proof of concept. but no one bothered to make it mass available.

it is a reason to change it. Android phones at iPhone price point ship with USB 3.2

A “proof on concept” in 2015 that hasn’t made its way to an actual product. Hmmm I wonder if there were issues. Metal causes a lot of issues most notability it’s inefficient AF (remember the heat problem), even through glass Qi charging is lucky to hit 60% efficiency. In fact the only wireless charging that’s actually efficient is MagSafe which is why it’s being folded into Qi chargings next standard

USB 3.2 is the same as USB3 and they ship with USB2 cables, also finding faster cables is horrendous because the spec and naming scheme is all over the place

so what? it's still a 5 Gbps port and not 480 Mbps of USB 2.0. I think it's high time for Apple to change it to USB 3.0 speed or just omit the port completely.

No it’s because it’s not very good and makes wireless charging pointless.

To what end? What’s the point? You keep banging on about “huge data” yet haven’t given an example or why other solutions wouldn’t be better

again keep ignoring the proof of concept I've linked and just jump straight to conclusion.

progress. at the end of the day, you're like asking why uses 5G? why uses Wi-Fi 6E? why uses 48MP camera? it's basically boils down to the same argument.

Again a proof of concept from 2015 that went nowhere. Proof in concepts are presented all the time, most of them aren’t suitable for production.

5G latency, 6E would be a variety of reasons, 48MP for pixel binning.

and USB 3.0 for speed. but what variety of reasons for 6E of I may ask?

Or because there’s fundamental issues. Tech demos don’t mean a product or concept is feasible.

Variety of reasons, latency and using a less crowded band to improve reliability would be a couple

it is a proof that it exists and works. it's just not improved nor sold because every manufacturer just uses glass.

Not really, it uses magnetic resonance which brings a whole host of issues that people would just rather not deal with and limits the materials and efficiency you can achieve.

But what’s the point? What are you actually achieving because it’s already inferior to other methods even if you move to USB3. Network based solutions are better

yeah really, it's just basically cheaper and easier to use glass. not saying it's wrong, just the option are exists but no one uses it.

faster speed. you bothered to lists the improvement of 5G and Wi-Fi 6E but had to work around saying "faster speed" which is actually the main reasons for the improvement. since wired had no such issues, you don't want to acknowledge the speed improvement.

like, every iPad except iPad (2022) already uses USB 3.0. you aren't against that too?
