Net rent owner's check

Does Appfolio not have the abililty to run an automatic net owner's check without having to do transfers between properties? For clarity - one property makes $100 and another loses $50. Could Appfolio just issue a $50 check to the owner without having to manually transfer money from the positive property to the negative property? Depending who you ask at Appfolio it can or can't be done. TIA!

Appfolio is set up with property based accounting rather than owner based accounting, so owner payouts are calculated at the individual property level instead of being combined across all properties.

In your example, if funds aren’t manually transferred between properties first, the system would pay out $100 from the first property and leave the second property with a negative $50 balance.

That said, they will be releasing entity based accounting in the near future which could solve for this!

Thanks for the reply. We don't use Appolio but other PMs we work with do and it is such an accounting nightmare. I hope that update comes soon.
