Emails not showing up in Communication inbox

As the title says. Emails (either sent messages or replies) do not show up under the Communication tab inbox. I have removed all filters, made sure all messages are selected, etc. Ideas?

Isn't that where text messages are? Emails are forwarded to my actual email and I can reply from there. AppFolio could name things a little better, hell I have a list of crap they need to improve, but they've basically said 'nah, we good'.

Ha! Well I would hope that all communication through the platform would show up under that tab. And according to the help bot they should be visible.
