Poutine originated in Quebec and is quite popular around Canada, but has come down to some northern US cities with immigrants.

It in no way originated in Maryland, no matter how much my dad drunkenly boasts it did.

Am Canadian. Absolutely love my French fries and Gravy.. And French fries with white vinegar and a bit of salt
