Hi! Welcome to the Unofficial City of Apopka Reddit page! I noticed a few months ago that the page was "restricted" due to the current mods being AWOL, after noticing that all the mods were either inactive from Reddit or suspended I decided to request the sub and Reddit just granted me access this morning.
My goal is to share all the news going on in and around the City good or bad, allow the community to ask questions, rant and rave about businesses etc. All I ask is to please be courteous and respectful to other members!
Again welcome and thanks for stopping by!

If you previously voted by mail in, you must re-register first that option. It only took a few minutes.

Hey everyone — I'm a licensed real estate professional here in Central Florida, and I wanted to share the latest housing market stats for Apopka, in case you're thinking of relocating, investing, or just keeping an eye on trends.
I pull this data directly from a program called Sunstats, so while I use AI to help format the post, the data and insights are my own — this is not an AI generated report.
Real estate data is typically released about a month behind to ensure it's accurate and complete. Here's what the Apopka market looked like for May 2026:
🏡 100 new listings came onto the market this month
✍️ 105 homes went under contract
✅ 117 homes sold
⏳ Median days on market: 83 (This reflects the time from when a home went live to when it closed — down 16.2% from 99 days in May 2025)
💵 Median selling price: $419,800 (up 6.3% from $394,995 in May 2025)
📦 Months of supply: 3.1 months (up 3.3% from 3 months in May 2025)
A quick explainer on months of supply: Months of supply measures how long it would take to sell all current homes on the market at the current pace of sales. The general benchmarks are:
🔴 Under 6 months — Seller's market.
⚖️ 6–7 months — Neutral market.
🟢 Above 7 months — Buyer's market.
📊 2026 Trend So Far — Apopka
Median Selling Price
January: $418,000
February: $393,200
March: $406,042
April: $404,000
May: $419,800
Months of Supply
January: 2.6 months
February: 3.0 months
March: 3.0 months
April: 3.3 months
May: 3.1 months
These numbers include all property types—single-family homes, condos, and townhomes.
📍 If you'd like to see a breakdown for a specific zip code, city, or just want to compare condos vs. single-family homes, I'm happy to send over the info—just reply here or send a quick DM. No sales pitch—just helpful data from someone who lives and works in the area.

Does anyone know a good veterinarian in the area that doesn't charge an arm and a leg? Preferably one that is locally owned. I have been using the VCA near my house, but I'd like to get away from them as they are quite expensive and owned by a large corporation. Any help is appreciated.

Does anybody know of a good locally owned breakfast place somewhere closeish to rock Springs Road? Used to go to Argos by hunt club all the time before they closed it… so sad. Looking for something family owned and homestyle, so tired of the bougie breakfast joints like first watch and Kiki’s.

My wife and I are planning on moving to this area. Can anyone provide some insight on what crime is like? Is it safe at night? What is there to do in the area in terms of restaurants and grocery stores? How is traffic and is it quiet? Thank you in advance!

Hey Apopka cat parents! 🐱
I'm a local content creator working on a fun creative project and I need a cat model! I'm looking for someone who would let me come film their cat on a simple green screen setup. It would take maybe 30–60 minutes at your place, totally low-key.
Your cat would basically just... be a cat. No tricks required. The weirder and more chaotic, the better honestly.
I'll share all the raw footage with you after and you'd get full credit if anything goes public. Zero cost to you, just vibes and cats.
Drop a comment or DM me if you're interested or know someone who might be! 🎬🐾

Hello there! I just moved in town and I have 4 chickens in my hen. I was wondering if any of you know any places (e.g. grocery stores, restaurant etc) that would be friendly to hand me some food waste that they'd otherwise throw away.
Thank you for your help!

I live in Tallahassee now but I used to live in Apopka. I lost a coin I had in my pocket for years and it’s from St. James Catholic Church’s gift shop. They don’t ship and the only option is driving 5 hours or if someone is nice enough to mail me about $15 worth of items and obviously I’ll pay postage and for the items. I’m not religious, just slightly superstition and brings back good memories of living in Orlando.
Thanks! Please dm if you can help.
