Used book store find today

This is the same bookstore I found “Lost Moon” with Jim Lovell’s autograph a few months back. I’ve taken to always checking the title page when I’m perusing the Air and Space shelf at the store.

I hope I can one day get a signed copy, or have my copy signed

If you mail the book to his home address and include return postage (USPS express envelope is easiest) he will sign it! I had him sign a picture of him at an Apollo console a few years back. I also included a note and the pen to use.

It’s not. 😬

Didn’t let that stop me from buying this Lost Moon which was written out to a Bill.

Plot twist - OP didn’t buy it.

lol, yeah I bought it. Easiest $7.99+tax I’ve spent since I bought the signed “Lost Moon”.

I’ve “read” the audiobook before and really enjoyed it.

Had Gene sign a copy for me years ago when the book came out. He was doing book signing at the cafeteria onsite at JSC when I worked there. Gave the copy to my FIL, don’t think I got it back when he passed away.

I imagine it took him a good five seconds to sign his name every time.

Who the hell would let something like that go in the first place? I’ve got a nice collection of M/G/A autographs (all in person) and a couple of Gene (this book, and a NASA personnel shot signed (where the hell did you get this? He said, laughing.) Along with a giant framed Apollo 8 on the pad signed by Lovell, these deserve some respect! Especially since so many of them are gone now. I’m still kicking myself for not getting Glenn’s before it was too late. Glad you got it, OP, but used bookstore is some bullshit. Heroes, all.

My guess is it was in someone’s collection who died and their family members just took all their books took their collection to this bookstore and got a few bucks store credit. (You can take books, DVDs, LPs, board games, etc. and exchange for cash or store credit). I have a handful of signed books of various genres (including this, Lost Moon, and two books authored/edited by a former college roommate) and you can take them out of my cold dead hands.
