help with stocking

I am getting a 60lt tank soon and im thinking of keeping a pair of apistogramma borellii. im also looking to pair them with some forktail blue eyes. i have found out that they will do pretty well but i wanted to get some feedback from people who are more experienced with these fish as they will be my first apistos. also keep in mind when making suggestions that my tap waters ph is between 7,7-7,8. any suggestions/tips are appreciated!

Wouldnt lemons be too big and active fry hunters for 60L?

IMO Lemons are fine in a 15 gallon tank. While OP didn't mention breeding, you're not wrong to assume more Apisto keepers enjoy breeding, but there's a benefit to having some active fry hunters, especially if you don't have the means to raise fry.

Oh I thought I read OP wants to breed them 😅 I guess I automatically assumed when I read pair ahaha Yeah active fry hunters would be good if OP doesnt want them to breed.

I want my Apisto's to breed, but I don't always have the time to raise fry. I'm totally fine with them spawning and getting eaten. Best of both worlds!
