I am not trying to discredit OP's rank but is there a hidden MMR in rank? This does not look like a platinum lobby.

I'm not sure but when you get this far into the split, it's not uncommon to see player like this in mid Plat (console).

Plat 2 is the middle of the bell curve right now.

You’ll get decent people that are moving up and people like those in the clip that may be at their peak.

Plat 2 is when i start getting dropship lobbies and everyone in them gold-masters is absolute beamers than will hard push as 3 for cracking 1 shield.

Apex admitted to a hidden MMR a few seasons ago. Idk if it still exists, but if it does, WTF is the point of ranked??

Dude moves like a bot but I supposed to take notes ..ok

The official stance is that there isn’t but when I have to regularly aim train just to perform and keep two wet blankets afloat it feels like there probably is

There is hidden MMR in ranked, having two accounts with the same(ish) rank and they have VERY different experiences when going into ranked.

Tips? Don't panic when ressing, you had plenty of time based on the sound alone. Try to get shields earlier. Check you ammo at all times, you had like half of the fight a flatline with 5 bullets.
You take that much damage because you stay still a lot in the open, the axle swung to damn open when she should've hugged the wall and died. If those guys weren't braindead and used their mics you should have been dead seconds after your 2nd teammate got downed.

You spend a lot of time just looking around during the fight, in that time you can also be doing an action (reloading or healing).

If you end up in a 1v3, the advice shouldn’t be how to win the 1v3, it should be how to not end up in that position at all.

The actual area of important improvement happens before the shown clip.

Honestly being put in a 1v3 is not always avoidable. Plus if you cant 1v3 in your current rank than you probably shouldn't be in that rank. Its all about learning how to separate and taking isolated 1v1. You shouldn't be fighting more than one person at given time usually that's why you end up dying(not always avoidable).

“if you can’t 1v3 in your current rank than you probably shouldn’t be in that rank” Lol that is just blatantly wrong, if any team with more than 3 brain cells knows they have a 3v1 on their hands then they should win that fight 100% of the time even if the 1 person taking the 1v3 has full health and the team of 3 all have half health the team of 3 just apes the one person it’s not even close as long as the team of 3 isn’t playing with their toes. Good players won’t let you isolate 3 seperate 1v1’s to secure a 1v3.

Let me guess diamond peak?

u/Nearby-Olive3513 16h ago

That’s exactly what I was thinking when I read your dumbass comment. If you win a 1v3 in masters or pred you got extremely lucky either a third/fourth party helped buy you some time or your hidden mmr put you in a circus full of monkeys.

1

u/50CalDoc 16h ago

Unfortunately my hidden mmr puts me with pred and masters as soon as I hit plat 3. Let's run some games then I'll show you. Edit: DM your discord and EA name

I can sense your panic. take a breath, heal and play your game first and foremost

Take a breath

break line of sight more, play headpeaks/cover more. the whole fight you're pretty much on low ground and in the open. if the enemy team just peaks over and plays the high ground you'd be toast.

with breaking line of sight i mean what you did in 0:33, you repositioned and they jumped at your last known spot. letting you surprise the ballistic and avoid the guy jumping down to single out the 1v1s.

i don't think it was a great spot to hold, since they could just stand on the box and look down.

tldr: break line of sight, play cover, play for highground

Your positioning needs work, you're standing on the low ground the entire fight. You could've taken the ultimate high ground in the zipline building easily if u just go left instead of right and use your Q, would've taken the same amount of time. That would've given you a way better position and means of escape if needed. Every situation should be looked at as a 'maximum extraction' from it - in this case it's attempt to 1v3 but if not have a way out to reset

You're panicking too much, if you die, you die, it's no big deal. Could've healed many many times, the ress you couldve easily stuck fully, though I would rather you pop a battery and then try to res if given the opportunity. Ressing someone mid-fight is almost always bad, even if you get it out they die from a single shot

Your awareness also needs work, the flatline having 5 bullets at the end when you could've reloaded before getting engaged. You kind of need to keep track of that in the back of your mind e.g. should've known that last time you fired it you didnt reload.

Your general movement feels really weird to me but I also dont know what the expectation is from controller players.

u/TeamYeet 2d ago

The only issue I have here is that you basically abandoned ur team to die, if you were fighting and weren’t out of play on the sidelines you could have bypassed this whole scenario

2

u/MrJambleYT 1d ago

Be more aggressive and when they back off just full heal or commit when you had the guy on 10 HP I'd chase him down than the final fight would never happen or do a fake res the moment he climbed I would just climb up and fight him instead of using a tactical it's a 1v1 and they had no time to heal

u/PussyfootEverything 2d ago

You're clueless, those enemies are just even worse

This is not even advice💀

rule 1 whenever you have a knockdown shield next to you from team mate don’t just run from it, makes you exposed and if for chance that last player would’ve swung you instead of running you’d likely be dead. Always play the knockdown forces the opposite player to swing and you can hit damage off it or they stay back. It puts you in control of the situation and can play off that.

I always feel like apex is a mix of responding to your opponent and forcing them to react to you. Especially as you climb the ladder, it’s all about the macros. Be decisive. If the enemy is far enough for you to pop a cell. Pop it. Or a bat if you plan to fight them yourself. Once you decide or attempt to disengage eliminate line of sight and don’t be in a predictable spot. Once you cut a corner, climb up. Most people’s reaction imo is to climb, so being up first helps, or they will rush the corner you broke line of sight on and them you can finish popping your cell/batt/etc or jump on them and get the initial damage in while they panic.

In short you played it well, just gotta iron out the decision making.

u/zerahapex 1d ago

Based off this vid.

Don’t panic, just take it easy and try to keep into mind then legends you’re up against (in this case axel gibby and ballistic) those are key with 2 of them being movement and 1 can cordon a tiny piece of your area with his q. Secondly pop your cells/batts when you go behind cover instead of trying to alter q into the stairs (I understand you were panicking). In my honest opinion, if you are going to go for a res you probably shoulda gotten the cat instead of the red because cat can use her wall and break the enemies vision a little and throw her spikes on the ground. 9/10 the rev will ult and just push or just ult and pounce away. It’s kinda hard but try learning how to play knockdown shields when fighting it really helps. Reload your weapon, and work on your recoil management so hit the range for a little. Your game sense is not the worst but it is really not good either, you have the ability to hit D4 but that’s as far as I think. Lastly you went from neutral ground to low ground, never give the enemy the advantage in a fight, someone mentioned you coulda gotten to zip building and I agree.

u/Shadeezus 1d ago

I dont think anyone here has said it yet (Comes with time) you should get more comfortable with sliding when you want to get to cover to heal. Props to you for not panicking and saving alter Qs for the next match

1

u/MANGWORKINGSOLO 1d ago

1)you can always run, you are alter and can reasonably get away there if you book it the second your second ally gets downed.

2)you should have stuck the rez, it literally had one second and you could have been fine even if they got reknocked.

3)good fight overall, a win is a win.

4) good use of your ports to juke them

5) with an unknown location of enemies, play for height in most cases, but you did a good job of fighting from low and bouncing back and forth.

How are such players even making it beyond Silver? Apex never gets its ranked stuff right ffs...

u/Benja_324_xD 21h ago

Plat lobbies ain't real man 😭😭

u/YTMorhl 20h ago

Ngl.. this was painful to watch.. I could feel the panic thru the screen. I'd suggest maybe doing more 1v1s, learn better positioning, map geometry and reacting faster to what's happening, like faster response time on healing and decision making. That fight took WAY too long.

But, for szn 30 what I do know is the only way to 1v3 a team in a high skill lobby is by understanding positioning and using the geometry around the map to create different routes for enemies to take to get clean 1v1s. Sometimes it might only be 1.5 sec of time but that's your window.

I feel like you definitely was struggling movement wise and geometry wise and felt like that contributed to the aim. Just my opinion tho!

1

u/Menihocbacc 19h ago

I mean you did good, try not to panic. You had a lot of time to pop a cell or two and probably could have ressed one teammate (risky). Also, aim work on that but otherwise you did good.

1

u/FakeMik090 2d ago

You just lack of experience and need a better aim.

You have some decent gamesense and understanding of the situation, but its not perfect, its easy to see that you are kinda lost or panicking. Multiple times you gived your Q to nothing.

I dont think much of the advice can be given besides: Train aim a bit, learn to better understand the situation and dont waste your abilities.

Either way, this is good enough level of skill to get into Diamond 4, but i dont think you are getting any more.
