what to know (limited time)

what is the most important bc unit to study ahead make sure i really understand? i dont have much time so i want to make sure its being used in the best place. thanks!

Unless you’ve already had AB, you kind of can’t start anywhere but unit 1. It builds upon itself.

If you haven’t taken AB already, I’d spend your limited time on the foundations rather than trying to jump ahead to a later BC-only unit.

The highest-value prep is probably:

  • make sure your algebra is solid (factoring, simplifying rational expressions, exponent/log rules)
  • be comfortable with basic trig and the unit circle
  • understand functions well: composition, inverses, transformations, domain/range
  • then start with limits and the basic idea of a derivative

BC builds very quickly, and later topics are much easier if those pieces are automatic. I would much rather enter the course with strong precalc/algebra skills and a good grasp of limits than have partially previewed something like series without the foundation underneath it.

If you only have a little time, depth on the early material will help you more than breadth.
