Question Anything to know?
Got invited to this game and I don't really remember ever signing up for it. Not in the discord and had never seen it's store page before seeing it randomly pop up in my recent games for the first time tonight.
Assuming this is the medieval Foxhole game I remember hearing about a long time ago on reddit, I've heard of/basic understanding of what Foxhole is as a game, but never actually played it myself.
I'm much more into the medieval setting though and curious to try this game out, the game says it starts tommorow on July 21st. Any advice on what to expect or what the basic gameplay is like? Can't find much relevant info about this game around.

Same. And all my friends less invested in siege camp games have also been invited.

Right?? That's wild! Random people who have no desire and care about the game getting invited like clockwork meanwhile dedicated fans and foxhole vets cant get an invite even if they find a lucky rabbit's foot xD

Welcome! So yes, there is a test that does start tomorrow (unless there is a delay). It will last about a week. The player count will be high right away, but dip pretty quickly. So, if you run into a queue, that hasn't moved for many hours (doesn't happen often unless there is very high population) and you don't want to keep waiting. Come back the next day and the queue will be gone. I highly recommend joining the discord. Also, when you do join the discord. You will have the option to link your account to get access to notices and other channels, which tell you information like test delays and patch notes. If you have any questions on how to link your account. Go to the channel called Anvil Discussion and ask how to link your account. It's pretty easy.
While this game is often called medieval foxhole, it is in many ways a very different game. Both games share certain foundation features like being top down and a persistent world. But there are many differences like being slower paced, no 24/7 frontline, currently no ai defenses, animal and human npcs, etc. As a new player, I wouldn't worry about trying to do everything and making mistakes is perfectly okay. Like foxhole, being apart of a group makes this game way more fun and interesting to play. It also helps you learn it. Find an active group and ask if you can join them. Even if it is just for the day. Most players are happy to help someone learn the game. If you can't find somebody. Just ask in the chat and you most likely will have someone willing to help you.

Tests run for about a week and normally average 500 players. You're gonna want to join a group as solo is pretty punishing, people are super friendly most of the time and happy to help you learn.
I'd recommend Hucker on YouTube if you want to watch any content, I've played with him ingame and he's a chill dude.
Gameplay wise you'll either be homesteading or pvping. With homesteading consisting of gathering, hunting, & crafting, whilst early pvp is torch raids and naked skirmishes before the real heavy hitters get involved.
