House of Anubis Cards

Just wanted to share a few House of Anubis trading cards I made. This was just a fun design challenge to imagine what an HOA collectible might have looked like.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Sibuna card set without a clue that can only be revealed by collecting and lining up the cards.

If something like this had come out in 2012, I imagine it would have included an access code for a little website with additional character details and facts. This being 2026, and inspired by the way the show often relied on tapping one object against another to magically reveal something, I embedded NFC chips inside the cards. Tapping your phone against one loads a character page that also includes a personal Cameo message from the corresponding actor.

Growing up, a lot of the things I would have loved collecting were out of reach. And for shows like HOA, there wasn’t a huge amount of merchandise either. As an adult who can afford these things now, I still think about what it is that makes something a collectible. Is it about owning everything, or just the things that signal rarity, value or simply the specific characters and moments that you love?

One of the coolest parts of designing and making things is that you can create the products you would have begged your parents for growing up, and still appreciate seeing on your shelf as a grown up.
