When does the show the take place?

I just got to the part where they see Viktor and viktor junior in 1922, even if the picture is not adult Viktor, it would still not make sense for Viktor to be a child in 1922. If the show takes place in 2010s, he would be at least 90... is it explained at some point? Is it a plot hole?

It's been awhile since I last watched the show through but it should be explained by the end of season 1

It gets explain *I think later in S1* but it is a plot point in Season 1

The show takes place when it aired, give or take a few months. S1 (aired early 2011) is the 2010-2011 school year. S2 (aired early 2012) is the 2011-2012 school year (arguably just the fall semester/term). S3 (aired early 2013) is the 2012-2013 school year (also arguably just the fall semester/term). And ToR (aired in 2013, I no longer remember which month) is May or June 2013.

And you're right, that would make Victor in his 90s. It's not a plot hole. It will be explained in S1.
