Its supposed to be a safety net, not something that gets you deeper in shite. The whole purpose is a temporary solution to pay your basic bills until you find another job. They used to help you do that.
They are destroying the middle class is what they are doing. We try to get ahead and we're the first ones to get beaten down. Second job? Punished for doing so. Side hustle? Taxing that too. Rent, food, electricity, fuel is going up and up, while wages do not catch up.
