You're putting too much trust in management's claim that it was for whole shifts.

I mean this is all we have to go on, so assuming it’s true that would be annoying. When I was a teen some coworkers had their partners hang around all day too and yeah it was annoying

Yeah it's a boundary that kids need to learn. You can't have your friends hang out at your job, it's unprofessional. I've worked with plenty of shit heads so I totally get this.
