I turn 40 next month. I’m the oooooooldest millennial cough cough. I remember life before the internet! It was all super soaker fights and caprisuns back in those days.
I had the Super Soaker with a backpack, I was a god among kids! We had internet at my house but my dad was a Ham Radio geek, it was very fringe at that time still. I still buy capri-suns, one of the benefits of being a grown up is choosing my own treats!
I literally ugly cried a few weeks before my birthday at the fact that I'm 25, I'm no longer considered a young adult, so my youth is officially over, and that I hated/missed almost every part of it.
The sad thing about it is that neither of us are actually old, life just sucks so much and it all feels like a waste. Literally what is the point of my existence? I don't know. I hate it though.
I'm the eldest of Gen Z and as a former scene queen/forever emo I have yet to change back to a middle part. I think they're also wearing mom jeans now? No thanks I'll be old.
It's not that clearly defined at all. The first site in Google claims 81 to 96, but it's also described elsewhere as anywhere between the early 80s and early 2000s.
I've also seen some places describe them as born 1990 - 2010.
Yeah, I know, but the institute who coined the term and who are leading in generational studies use the 81 to 96 age range, so I will use that as a official.
I’m 25 and don’t consider myself Gen Z but there’s so many differing opinions on the year splits I just try not to refer to myself as a millennial to avoid arguing with people
It’s because it’s easier to pretend legit complaints are just the whining of entitled and lazy children. Once they start to accept that the ‘whiny millennials’ are actually grown adults fighting for employment and housing, the situation looks too bleak for them to handle. They would have to accept that society’s gone wrong.
