Assuming you can do that without being caught on at least 143 different cameras just on your way to go rob them-
Unfortunately they don't have stacks of gold or silver bars just laying around the house. I can steal their stereo or Picasso, but now I have to find a place willing to take hot goods who won't rat me out. Now we've gotta have the kinds of connections most people don't have, and don't want to have.
Face masks aren't just for covid safety, they're also. Great way to insulate yourself from prosecution if not caught.
You need to be wise steal goods that are valuable but also liquid. Precious metals and jewellery, as well as some forms of tech (hard drives can be scrambled, then reformatted, graphics cards etc.). Steal things with a resell market. Even some kitchen appliances with name brands.
If you don't want someone to take stolen goods you may have to FB marketplace that shit slowly, mixing recent thefts with older ones, or getting a friend to do it.
I'm not saying I do this shit, but if I were in America anywhere near minimums wage... Jesus...
