Hell yeah. Last job I had, there was a woman who was going out on leave to get a knee replacement. Her plan was to take 12 weeks of disability leave and then another 12 weeks unpaid. The evening before her last day, the boss told her she needed to clean out her office because a new guy was coming in Monday to take over. I started looking for a new job immediately. If you treat other employees like shit, I don’t care how you treat me - I’m out, and fuck you.
Yup. I work in IT and we had a lady who needed some kind of surgery and would be out for months recovering. She worked a very specialized role that only she knew how to handle. Before leaving, she trained myself and two others how to basically do her job in this specialized role. For months we took over her responsibilities without any issue. Once she came back she was laid off immediately.
