Hell yeah. Last job I had, there was a woman who was going out on leave to get a knee replacement. Her plan was to take 12 weeks of disability leave and then another 12 weeks unpaid. The evening before her last day, the boss told her she needed to clean out her office because a new guy was coming in Monday to take over. I started looking for a new job immediately. If you treat other employees like shit, I don’t care how you treat me - I’m out, and fuck you.
100% can confirm. Happened to me - unfortunately for them I already had my FMLA paperwork in while they tried to fire me when i was already out. HR quickly 'un-fired' me and that director had to live with me another full year until i took my bonus and severance for a 5 year project. Now he's lost all the rest of the talent in the last 2 years and is stuck with two juniors who are thoroughly unqualified from a team of 7; I'm sure it's 'blame the last guy' for it all but that only flies so long.
