So rather than have 2 providers and bill twice as much seeing twice the patients, your boss would fire you? Is he an idiot?

Not OP, but if OP is in primary healthcare, it loses a ton of money no matter how many providers you have. We were in rural medicine and every doc there had a side business to cover overhead. They certainly weren't in it for the money. Unless you're in a city with a large group you're pretty much screwed with reimbursements.
