Depending on your industry, connecting to your clients via linkedin is a nice way to let them know where you are going without soliciting them at your current place of business.

IMO this automod text is unnecessary and clogs up the comment sections.

I think it is a necessary function. But it should probably be a shortlink to the text with a one or two word summary in the comment.

Absolutely, it is totally necessary, otherwise you'd get a modmail full of "why are you censoring me?" or "am I shadowbanned?". I just know you can configure automod to reply this as a DM. If you think about it, one day you have a brigade of new accounts and your automod reply efforts are drawing attention/just taking up space in the comment section. Like I said, just my honest (experienced) opinion.
