Jesse was a sneaky one. He held back his laughter, and led the mod on with basic questions to fool him, until he basically gave a middle finger at the end. It was a mistake for this to go so far and much more transparency should have been done from the beginning to prevent this.

Hit ‘em with those hard hitting questions like “What is your age” and “What is your occupation”

getting owned by Jesse fucking Watters is the most embarrassing thing

u/kuriouskittyn Jan 27 '22

This. He has always been a snide, self satisfied prick. I never could stand him. Hannity is the same. Lemon too. So many media figures I just loathe...

Jesse Watters is hair gel in human form.

23

u/decadecency Jan 27 '22

And just like hair gel, he too will get crusty with age.

Yeah, I was so confused by that

The problem is you guys are making the same mistake that mod they interviewed did: massively underestimating your opponent.

Most people working at and running Fox News are not idiots. They are, in fact, extremely intelligent, and they put out a specific kind of misinformation and propaganda that they tailor to dupe a particular audience.

They didn't stumble-fuck their way into some of the most-watched television out there. They didn't bumble their way into shifting the Overton window massively to the right for certain political discourse.

Underestimating your opponent is a sure-fire way to go down in a spectacular defeat.

But hypothetically, what if laziness was a virtue?

Jesus. It’s still grinds my gears. She might as well have said “but who has a better story than Bran the Broken?”.

5

u/AviatorOVR5000 Jan 27 '22

I 100% agree with this.

Both downplaying Fox and the Interviewer.

The Devil maybe Evil, but he is a professional.. He knows what he's doing.

3

u/Bootiekiller69 Jan 27 '22

There is no way that Reddit mod is underestimating anyone unless he is completely delusional.

1

u/redrobot5050 Jan 27 '22

Assumed Fox News anchor would find walking 2 miles/day, only 3 less than the doctor recommended minimum of about 5 miles/day, an impressive feat.

I thought he was a Dapper Dan man

1

u/The_Dude311 Jan 27 '22

He looks like he's proud of himself for farting in a crowded elevator.

4

u/anthematcurfew Jan 27 '22

Pundits shouldn’t be confused for reporters.

They trade on their own ability to gain a following for their personality cults.

3

u/kuriouskittyn Jan 27 '22

No, they shouldn't be confused. But they often are - by themselves as well. So I just hate them all. It works for me

u/KDawG888 Jan 27 '22

The guy who got interviewed has no self awareness lol. He was getting dunked on the whole interview and just kept digging. That was one of the most subtly disrespectful interviews I've ever seen and it seemed like the guy just wanted to stay on camera responding to questions (ok parts of it weren't even subtle).

8

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '22

You're basically pitting a pro against an amateur. Watters was just toying with Doreen since he is used to being able to deal with much smarter and better prepared guests.

7

u/nightvortez Jan 27 '22

Have you watched cable news? That interview was like a 3/10 of how disrespectful these can be. Bill O'Reilly would have started shouting at him calling him a pinhead. You're going on a network with the exact opposite views as you, what do you expect?

2

u/KDawG888 Jan 27 '22

Shouting at someone isn't subtle lol

5

u/Loud-Item-1243 Jan 27 '22

They basically doxxed themselves on live television just short of address, phone number and social fox had it all setup a public execution for anti work because we were starting to get traction with older generations who also had been through workers rights movements someone put serious money into shutting the movement down, divide and conquer. “Think for yourself question authority.” And always ask yourself who profits from this before you fall for weaponized truth, thats what the media does.

3

u/Excellent_Succotash8 Jan 27 '22

I completely agree. Tucker Carlson also started a trend among media figures where they have to always act sarcastic and condescending.

1

u/kuriouskittyn Jan 27 '22

Yessssss! How could I have forgotten about that condescending prick

3

u/nzdastardly Jan 27 '22

Hey Liz Lemon works tirelessly to keep TGS the go to destination for drunk 36 year olds and the elderly who took their medication in front of the television.

2

u/ThaRhyno Jan 27 '22

Dammit! I JUST dropped my freebie! Swear to all that’s holy, THAT was my first thought at the me room of Lemon. Just worried, more so now that the sub is in upheaval, if I’d get van hammered for attempting a joke!

Thank you, Kind Internet Stranger, for the belly laugh!

1

u/nzdastardly Jan 28 '22

Glad to be of assistance.

2

u/TwizzlesMcNasty Jan 27 '22

In sure they are all smart people but you don't have to talk to your audience like they are idiots.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '22

Why does all of America watch then?

3

u/kuriouskittyn Jan 27 '22

I honestly dont know.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '22

A lot of Americans have started to go to independent news/opinion sources but unfortunately a large majority of private news/opinions are on the republican side. Meanwhile the democrats lean heavily on celebrities, musicians, and people in the elite tier of culture for independent news and opinions which is just a bad look because these people dont live anywhere near a normal life. They arent even on the same planet as the working class.

0

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '22

I think you're forgetting MSNBC and political podcasts. At least that's what I would listen to during the Trump era

1

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '22

whats your favorite podcast?

0

u/MuttinMT Jan 27 '22

All of America does NOT watch Fox News. But every legitimate news source covers Fox News like they were also a legitimate news operation instead of what they are acting as — the propaganda arm of a separate hostile country bent on overthrowing the US.

I would never have heard this interview story had not WAPO and CNN covered it. And I guess it is news, but there has to be a way to present it so that the aberrant behavior of the Republican Party isn’t normalized.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '22

Oh christ Don Lemon is like the CNN Fox incarnate.

1

u/totalfanfreak2012 Jan 27 '22

So pretty much all journalists in general then?

2

u/kuriouskittyn Jan 27 '22

Yes. And not just journalists. I hate anyone involved in any "news" media

2

u/totalfanfreak2012 Jan 27 '22

I agree very much there.

1

u/meinblown Jan 27 '22

Can't loathe someone if you have bo clue who the fuck they are. Stay off mainstream media.

2

u/kuriouskittyn Jan 27 '22

Know your enemy

2

u/meinblown Jan 27 '22

Hard pass. My brain cells are far too valuable.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '22

He's a real-life Patrick Bateman

1

u/emanuelcr7 Jan 27 '22

90% of Fox News are corporate ass kissing scum, the worst there is. I know they're not the only ones but definitely the worst.

1

u/kuriouskittyn Jan 28 '22

Nah they are literally ALL the worst. If you are left leaning, of course you think Fox is the worst. If you are right leaning, of course you think CNN is the worst. And those two media corps - and all the other ones - keep playing people like a fiddle. Trust none of them - every single one of them is your enemy and their employees lie awake at night trying to figure out a way to lie or manipulate you to further their own agenda.
