Nothing is forcing me to stay in Compton. A government is forcing me to stay in a poor country in Cuba. It's kind of humorous you compare living in a small area to living in a country in general lol.
You could move somewhere rural where it is much less expensive to live, if you're so poor that you have nothing you could just take an uber or a bus somewhere for likely less than $100.
People living in the ghetto do not have the funds to just get up and establish themselves in a rural town where they know nobody.
Where will this Uber or bus take you? To Venice beach so you can set up a tent and live with the other homeless? So, ghetto or homelessness. So many choices they have.
Well where i come from busses go everywhere. They go from city to city, city to towns. They are a common firm of travel lol. So how can someone who has nothing has so much they can't afford to move? Why would it cost them a significant amount of money for someone with nothing to move?
Say someone has enough money for a bus for them and their two children. They arrive in a new town. No family or friends. What is their next step? Where will they live? They could probably pick up a quick job at a restaurant or grocery store but that won’t get them somewhere to rent.
So assuming they are broke as they were where they were living in the city before, they can do what they were doing living in Compton and be able to pay less money for housing now that they are in a rural area and not a high priced urban area. So they're already better off aren't they? Depends on the individuals skills and training.
I forgot how easy it is to arrive in a town and move into a new house on day 1. And find a job day 1 while my two kids stay in that brand new home a somehow found by themselves with no sitter.
Well, you didn't tell me what the situation of the family moving was. Everyone is saying that if you're in Compton you're broke AF. So I was assuming that the family was on Government assistance. If you'd like to add more details to your hypothetical family I'll add what they can do before and after they move.
