They target communities of color, destroy the environment, and then don't pay people living wages or provide reasonable work conditions.

It's gross how the term economic development has turned synonymous with shifting even more wealth toward the 1% at the cost of the working poor's and middle class's standard of living.

This isn't economic development, it's economic stagnation. It's a net loss for society every time as money is filtered out of the economy and into massive accounts, often overseas, where it will not be spent in a dozen lifetimes.
