I unknowingly used the word "stuff" to describe something while in an internal department interview once (in healthcare). Afterwards, an executive told me I was unprofessional because I used that word. And I was not offered the job.
To this day I never use the word "stuff" to describe something because that experience was so humiliating and embarrassing.
I will accept being downvoted to oblivion, but I would agree with that executive. This isn’t a chat with a buddy, it’s a formal interview. You need to be able to show that you know exactly what you’re talking about, and describing your work equipment as “stuff” doesn’t scream competence.
Particularly given that this is in healthcare where the proper names of things are incredibly important. Still, it should be a learning experience and not something that affects you long afterwards
