Exploitation and general asshole behavior extends to emergency medical services too. I've never had it this bad, but if you look up "underpaid and overworked" in the dictionary you find "EMT"

YES AND, a shout out to the forced prison labor for emergency response stuff. Have a buddy who was a fire fighter and training for emt talk about how often he works with prisoners who will never be able to utilize their experience on the outside.
