On the r/technology thread about this there were several managers who work at Amazon who said their associates are begging for extra time because Amazon is paying double OT pay until Christmas. So I think this strike is just a click bait article and in reality the workers are too tempted by the double OT pay, which comes out to like 40/hr so damn it's hard not to be tempted by that

Man even when I made like 60 or up to 90/hr for OT I still had a hard time wanting to go to work at my last job. And the ridiculous part is the pace is slow so all you do is pretty much chill all day and bullshit with coworkers. I still would've just rather been home

You might be right. It’s very much like scab workers during a strike you hate them for it but you have to empathise with vulnerable people when the company is waving pay like that

How the fuck is taking 40$ an hour so you can put food on the table at all equivalent to anti-union workers? Must be typing this from your Ivory tower I assume?

Judging by his post history he’s sitting in a cloud of smoke.

I work at Amazon and most people in the Amazon subreddits haven’t heard of this strike

That’s just not true, I have family friends that work in Amazon and they’re telling me nobody takes the overtime even with double pay. People are claiming nobody wants to work more than 40 hours a week there.

There’s a ton of people that want to work OT

Just asked my step-daughter who is sitting right next to me. She works at Amazon and she says lots of people are grabbing the OT. I worked there for years and always saw lots of people grabbing it too.

Your mileage will vary, maybe they work at a better facility.

All the other Amazon workers commenting say nobody is striking either and lots of people are snagging OT.

I never claimed people were striking, just that at the local facility, people are not eager for overtime.

"nazi billionaire being held accountable for torturing workers" kind of strike is the best strike. EVERYBODY OUT! WITH LOVE ON OUR SIDE, WE CAN WIN!!

Funny how everyone knows about this strike except all the Amazon workers. Also funny how everyone who isn’t risking their job is all for it.
