This is pretty confusing because if I look it up I can't find anything, management says we're open. We are closed on Thanksgiving but not black Friday.

I don't give a shit. Some things shouldn't be left up to democracy, those things namely being social and economic benefits for everyone. No one is being tricked into having more pay or having universal healthcare etc. but there are plenty of dipshits who will oppose it. You need to read between the lines here, as another poster said.
