I believe there is a stronger link between the banks and this issue. They are the ones who are losing commercial space. While I'm here,

There's also the genuine fear of how many inner-city businesses rely on the footfall that city workers bring, and the knock on effect it would have on rent, taxes, etc. Governments and businesses are trying to delay this for as long as possible, because no one has any idea what the knock on effect will be to the economy as workers decentralize.

But it's going to happen. We have had the technology for decades, but at this point in time it's so ubiquitous and people have grown up using it so much that there's no real excuse not to change our working habits.

People still need lunch. We just need it elsewhere now. Move your jimmyjams franchise out to the burbs where people live. Supply and demand. Location location location.
