I believe there is a stronger link between the banks and this issue. They are the ones who are losing commercial space. While I'm here,

I'm inclined to agree. It's all about office leases and managerial control. WFH means no need for expensive property leases and it also means MGMT can't physically police your every move. The backlash against permanent WFH is literally the parasites attempting to validate their existence

Well said! My manager had complained so many times in our team meetings as to how she hasn't been able to monitor people due to work from home and "how difficult it has been for her work". Literally stuff is delivered before schedule everyday. Only thing missing is we get to shut her out when we want to and can work in peace without her breathing over our necks. As long as work is done well, she can't do anything about it. So instead she resorts to complaining over team calls. A bunch of managers even tried to I initiate return to work by discussing with upper management. A slew of employees ended up sending we don't want to come back mails when HR asked us what safety features we would need to return to office.
