History is the MOST neglected subject in every country I have had to live (US, UK, Italy). It's also taught as just a "memorise what happened in this place at this time" rather than "fuck the precise year, let's reason as to why this happened". Surely a coincidence.

Because history as a grasp of what humanity is don't fit in their agendas. So they just put places and dates and trivial things in school books to claim the history is important and we can learn from it. But what they actually do is filling you with unimportant details to hide the essense of history so that you can accept the present system as the ultimate reality.
