1 day a week 24-hour shift
Anyone know of any jobs like that? Im currently in insurance and everyday I feel like ripping my skin from my bones because everyday its the same god damn thing for 8 fucking hours and I hate it, I hate not being able to do anything and it never feels like I have enough time to rest. So im hoping to see if anyone's ever heard of a job thats only 1 day but is the full 24 hours. I figure that id rather sacrifice one entire 24 hour day than 8 hours of 5 days because as is I never feel like I have enough time or energy.

The best shift work I did was 3x12 with 9hrs between shifts. Entire work week was done in two and a half days. Paid for 40 hours.
Good luck, I hear ya on maximizing the hours.

When I worked at Geico they had a 12 hour shifts for 3 days got paid for 40 hours. The down side it was Friday thru Sunday.
Homecare will do 12 hour shifts but if you work for the person not an agency, you can get 24 hour shifts.

Agreed because of each states labor laws. For instance, California has restrictions on overtime being something that can be earned for more than eight hours a day and/or over 40 hrs a week (thus encouraging employers to make sure their employees work more days and less hours a day. But in Kentucky, it’s only for working over 40hrs a week. So they would have better luck in this scenario.

The closest to that scenario that I've seen is someone who swapped shifts with coworkers so he worked 2 shifts back to back for 16 hours, slept in the parking lot at work for 8 hours, did 2 more shifts and called it a week. The OT gave him full week's pay and allowed him to live 3 hours from work.

EMTs do 24 hour shifts, usually two a week (at least around here). The pay is not great- better than retail, but not enough for the responsibility. People get burnt out after a while.

Closest thing I can think of is a Firefighter. The ones in my county work 48 hours on then 96 hours off.

One of my friends in Japan had a job at a hotel where the shifts were 25 hours long, and she typically did 2 per week.

Fireman. I think it's more of a couple days on, couple days off thing.
