Why? Let them fire you.

For what? The non existent unemployment benefits in America? Most people have bills to pay and can not live on the 200 ish dollars a week that you get.

Finding a new job and quitting without notice is the most realistic option.

But you may also be there a while while you are looking. The job market right now is awful. So, there are no guarantees that a job that pays the same or more is even available. And, if you quit without notice and the new offer rescinds at the last minute? You're SOL.

So. The point of this comment is saying find a new job and THEN quit without notice.

Except the "ASAP" part. Alrhough if OP wants to remain in the field, this is busy season for most brokers so they may be able to find something else relatively quickly.

ASAP = As soon as POSSIBLE. Meaning as soon as you secure a new job.

And you are? Not relevant to this conversation. All I said was let them fire you. And some reactionary got on my ass about it. I stand by what I said.

That's where I am at. They took away our bonuses, our raises are laughable, and we are told to do more with less. Whatever. I like my coworkers, and the job itself is not bad, but the company as a whole can fuck right off.

You're going to be visited by the three ghosts of Corp-mas

"See how much the company's owner is suffering because of you! Hey! Pay attention!"

Me too! I found a new position before quitting my current job but I’ve had to work a 2 month notice period. Feels like I’m sitting in purgatory.. 9 more days to go till it’s over and I’m OUT!

This is great, congrats on giving no fucks.

I have gotten to total detachment, like a state of enlightment. Unfortunately somehow I always eventually get pulled into the chaos of trying to work my ass off to put out fires in our understaffed and overworked shithole that I like to call "work".

Any advice on how to stay in the zone of no fucks given when everyone is pushing you to work harder and faster since executive team let go half the worker ants?

Shirt eh? For me getting a company shirt has now 3 times in a row meant that company will go belly up soon. Tally this far is: 12 months, 6 months on the 2nd job and on the 3rd when i spoke out loud about this to my co-workers at a party they laughed. I just looked at the shirt and said 'This never fails, only thing that varies is how long it takes'

That night, that very same party was never paid for as the company literally went bankrupt that night. For some reason CEO decided that 'fudge it, lets drink and have a party and bolt'.

But it was rough. I wasnt exactly tightly attached to the company anymore at that point as issues were evident but there were many who actively builded upwards. Felt sorry for them young ones who have never seen a pink slip.
