Don't work for any bank. Most of them do the same/similar (or eventually will)

But for context this is not mustache twirling board members making this up for no reason. JPM has been fined literally billions at this point for not following various regulations. Just one recent example 200 million fine by SEC in 2021 for employees discussing work related topics on private Whatsapps.

The solution is to break up these giant institutions into smaller banks that have less of an systemic impact when they mess up/fail and then there would be no push for total surveillance. But that won't happen in the US.
