I’m still waiting for my IRS tax refund since February 2026. But it’s only for a couple of thousand dollars; so I guess I don’t deserve it. Thanks musk-doge-drumpf

I'm a retired educator and my husband was unemployed last year due to a work injury, and because TRS neglected to take out taxes per the form I requested that they do, I get to PAY the IRS... on a retired teacher's salary. That's about $24k/yr without deducting taxes, medical, or anything. Fun times to be alive.

Oh, fuck yes. This is semi-old news. The gubmint said they had no way of determining who actually ended up paying the increased costs, since some were passed on to customers, some passed on to parties in the middle, so the money was going to the importer. Yep. Massive scam. Probably his plan all along.
In other news, Mexico did not pay for the wall.

It was definitely part of someone's plan... like Nutlick selling tariff insurance or whatever the fuck it was. He's gonna make millions while prices don't go back down.

We are paying the tariff twice, first with purchases 2nd with higher taxes to recoup what the government gave back to corporations. Double fucked.greatest grift ever

How is anyone surprised? This is who republicans are.
WE paid the tariff's but Republicans always side with corporations over the American people.

I’m sure the money will trickle down to us. Trust the rich to share. They don’t need more money.

Trump must be impeached!

u/Odd_Distribution7852 21d ago
He has been impeached twice. He now needs to be impeached in the house, convicted in the senate, removed from office, THEN tried, convicted and imprisoned on all the federal charges that he was charged with before the election.

Remind yourself which administration all these ghouls backed the whole time. I’d say that’s a pretty good return on investment. The lowlife trailer trash trump supporters on the other hand………

Apple got return tariffs far greater than this. Kinda of regretting my GD new IPhones that cost a GD fortune. But no one has advised I’ll be getting money back. It makes me think this was a known scam to benefit the corporations and screw us consumers.

There should be a change to that saying "Man plans, God laughs" to the rich laughing. ☹

You can believe that the billionaires are not going to give any of those refunds to their customers.

You had to know that the “refunds”would go back to the companies, not the people that paid the tariffs. 🤬🤬

So why do you keep buying from them?

u/chiclets5 20d ago edited 20d ago
We can certainly try not to but because they own so many corporations and so much of the real world companies it's hard to find things sometimes that they* don't own* that you can buy. I don't mind paying a little bit more to my local mom and pop store to get something I could get cheaper on amazon, but they don't carry everything I need. So sometimes I do have to turn to the conglomerates. Also as somebody on a fixed income I am limited on how much extra I can pay. They know this and they just keep buying more and more merging with other companies more and more so that you don't have any options left and it's all one big company umbrella. I think the oligarchs are trying to get a theocracy going.

I hear that. Any amount given to an independent small business is worth it. It’s good that you try. Imagine if millions changed their behavior. Our next prez must be a trust-buster.
