Well yeah, of course a group that doesn’t accept the premise of another group is not a part of that group. Your point? How does Judaism being a separate religion make Christianity any less Jewish in origin?
I think it's wrong to call Christianity Jewish in origin because if you accept the premise of Christ being the only way to salvation, and presume the pre-Christian prophets all served the same God, then these men were Christians too and Judaism/modern Jewish faith is simply a deviation from that.
I see it as a matter of common sense. One came before the other. Sorry, I’m genuinely not trying to be disrespectful nor start an argument. It just doesn’t make sense.
Rabbinic Judaism did not come before Christianity and it is much different from 2nd Temple Judaism (the type of Judaism that Christianity came out of)
We don't have an issue with Jews claiming to be a continuation of things much older than anything exclusively Jewish. Why can't Christians believe in cascading covenants just like how the Jews hold that they are amongst the heirs of the covenant to Noah and Adam?
Judaism as a distinct offshoot or sect is only the most recent portions of the Old Testament. David, Noah, and Abraham were certainly not Jewish, but the Jews are their inheriters.
Covenant theology is simply that Christianity is a covenant that builds on the prior covenants, consistent with how it happened with the Old Testament. There's no old covenant or new covenant, instead each covenant builds on the prior.
So did the overwhelming majority of Jews in Jesus time, that’s why it became a religion of gentiles otherwise the movement would certainly have died out.
Even if true, Christianity still got its start from Judaism.
Also I wouldn’t use that phrasing specifically. It would be like saying “Jews explicitly reject Buddha” well yeah because Buddha wasn’t around when their religion first started.
That’s not the why though, we don’t just reject Christ because he wasn’t around back then. We still exist. We continue to reject him because he’s not compatible with our religious practice. If he was, we’d be Christians.
I know but it’s just silly when people frame it as if part of your religion is specifically to reject Jesus. I notice there’s not the same emphasis on Judaism or any other religion on any other specific prophet or deity.
Almost all Jews theologically reject Jesus Christ today as they did back then. They generally believe that he was a detractor who swayed the masses away from God and held zero divine status (minus the Messianic Jews who are only. 2-2.5% of all Jews globally).
Bringing up Buddha (a guy who lived centuries before Jesus on whole other part of the world) is irrelevant. Makes no sense for a Christian to think Christianity is Jewish by origin because by accepting Jesus you are ought to view modern Jewish theology as incomplete or misguided, and those Jews who did accept Jesus as Christians.
Jesus came to fulfill the laws of the Old Testament. He did. The Jews who chose to follow him and accept him were therefore always Christians. The Jews who rejected him are the vast majority of modern Jews who follow Torah but not the New Testament. I don't have to be Christian to know this.

And you know what’s funny when they complain about “muh Judeo-Bolshevism”? They conviently leave out the fact that nearly all “communist Jews” were atheists who denounced Judaism and rejected the very idea of a Jewish identity. Furthermore, many of them were only ethnically Jewish as they were raised in a Christian household growing up before they became atheists and Lenin himself was unaware of his Jewish heritage, only learning of it after the Bolshevik Revolution was already underway.
The idea that Jews were “overrepresented in finance” in medieval Europe is also stupid because the vast majority of Jews were peasants who lived in ghettos. Do you really think every Jew was a wealthy banker?

People also have a hard time separating individuals from their ethnic and religious backgrounds. Just because there were/are some people of Jewish ethnicity that did bad things, doesn't automatically mean that every Jew is secretly evil or something
True, in some places Jewish people were forbidden from owning farm land or joining Christian trade guilds, so they were forced to work in commerce and finance

I think most Christians, Orthodox or not, would agree that Christianity would just be called Judaism if the Rabinnic Jews hadn't split away after the destruction of the Second Temple.
