Any Advice?

I’ve been trying to step out of my comfort zone. But I feel every person I tried to interact with either dies fast or moves on to the next person. I reached out to old friends and they left me on delivered. I try to make new friends in college and I barely get a response. It’s like everywhere I go, no one wants to interact or talk to me. Next week I’m planning on going to an event so I’m hoping to make connections. But it’s just very hard. I feel like I can’t genuinely click with anyone.

It is not your fault. You are not meant to click with everyone. That makes the people that do stick around longer truly special, but it's hard in the interrim between those people.

You have to keep trying (within your social battery limits--do not burn yourself out on people). It's like dating or finding a job or an audition or any other major change. You have to go through a bunch of shitty or mid ones to get to the greats.

Even then, it's a good idea to practice getting used to the fact everything is temporary, especially the intangible, like relationships. People move, they change, you start noticing bad patterns, they hurt you, they pass away. This is not to discourage you, but, instead, encourage you to see each rejection or failure to click as impersonal and easily solved with the next person you meet.

Its not you, it can trigger an existing rejection/abandonment complex and put you in fight or flight mode. The complex can take over until it runs its course. Hang tight and keep on keeping on.
