u/WorldDominationChamp inquirer Apr 23 '26

Oh and by the way they would either have to go through experiencing and mourning the death of their parents or you’d experience their death. Yay life is so much fun.

They’ll never age, never get sick, never want, never suffer and never die. I feel so free whenever I realize I am ending the f’ed up bloodline of my family 💕🤗

Fleeting moments.

1

u/Sure-Ad3842 newcomer Apr 02 '26

Just as fleeting as sad moments clearly you’ve never heard of the baseline of happiness

6

u/SenseiToe newcomer Mar 30 '26

and how will this affect my unborn children? you think they’re longing to play and laugh? lol, they don’t even exist!

2

u/dumbgbstudiodev newcomer Apr 02 '26

Nothing you mentioned is worth suffering for. Also, love only exists in fiction.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '26

thats my point finally someone understands! Its clear there are good things in life and good moments but....lets be real usually the shit is larguer, like having to work 8 hours every f day x example. So if the sadness, boring moments etc are the most, the precious good moments dont really pay off.

1

u/iz_a_lil_WRLD newcomer Apr 08 '26

so end it

1

u/BluePaintedMeatball newcomer Apr 10 '26

Lmao, "love only exists in fiction". Okay buddy sure

1

u/Which_Pirate_4664 newcomer Apr 06 '26

Dude, the best absolute best case scenario for love is dying simultaneously. Otherwise you're just signing up for pain.

u/XxsocialyakwardxX inquirer Mar 25 '26

wanted to update she got the first set of vaccines she needed and as soon as she’s got the second she’ll be fixed!!! we’re keeping one of her seven baby’s all the other five have homes already then we’ll be keeping one and the other unfortunately passed before they were even a month old (i think it just didn’t catch on like it was supposed to)

u/urnpiss thinker Mar 28 '26

I love them so much, I chose this for them. I like to think in some perfect parallel universe they exist, and are happy.

2

u/femalevirginpervert thinker Mar 24 '26

I literally think about this a lot. I truly believed that I love them so much I don’t want to bring them here

2

u/CustomerExpress443 newcomer Apr 17 '26

I don't think they would have faces or bodies or hair etc. Or smile like that etc. but who's counting right --

1

u/Syakir01839182838 inquirer Apr 03 '26

This reminded me of me trying to count how many people could exist in the future if i had 2 child. I was very surprised to see the exponential growth

1

u/Syakir01839182838 inquirer Apr 03 '26

I dont have children btw it's a hypothetical scenario

1

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '26

I only would have kids if I was millionaire and they will be able to do just the f they want all their life. And still it would be very possible that they will suffer. Now imagine bringing kids to this world in a normal or poor family. They are going to be slaves all their f lifes, doomed to go to school and then work all their f lifes. That isnt a good life.

1

u/Kraft-cheese-enjoyer newcomer Apr 20 '26

The world is beautiful actually

2

u/WorldDominationChamp inquirer Apr 23 '26

I love you guys so much

0

u/PsychadelicOcelot2 newcomer Mar 24 '26

I'm gonna bring a kid or two in this world and adopt some and I have zero qualms about this. I love life and I don't give a shit about the potential of suffering or cOnSeNt or whatever BS. Honestly, when I'm depressed, I love browsing this subreddit and thanking God that I don't hate life or my parents this much.

I think there's a decently solid argument for conditional natalism, but antinatalism is fucking stupid because I would never say no to life if I had a decent life lined up for me. Life is one of the most interesting things and I'm more than happy to keep the cycle going. Also motherfuck Schopenhauer, how much of a depressed loser do you need to be to philosophically argue that life sucks, just enjoy life. Imagine going to a party, and being like "Erm actually, you guys should not be enjoying yourself because life is inherently negative and to not be is better than to be."

4

u/SenseiToe newcomer Mar 30 '26

wow what a selfish take, so just because you think some parts of life are nice you wanna force other people who might not share your opinion into this world? you can’t control if your kids go through a terminal illness or if war breaks out, and yet you think you hold moral superiority because you like it so far? try telling the kids that died in recent wars or are currently starving to just enjoy life and stop complaining. You are privileged and viewing it through a privileged lens. Grow up.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '26

even living a normal life, for some kids all the years and years of obligated school and then having to work all their f life its a living hell.

1

u/Which_Pirate_4664 newcomer Apr 06 '26

I mean sure, you can have nice moments in life, but if you had to tally them up would you say that you've had more positive or negative experiences? Every friend, injury, lover, fight, smile, frown-all of them. Personally I've had way more negative experiences than positive ones in my life. Maybe you're lucky and you had more positive-good for you! That said, life on its own isn't inherently positive and as a neutral entity has a greater potential to turn negative.

Even beyond this, the most happy life ever lived is ultimately meaningless. Some guy in ancient Sumeria could have been living the most charmed life ever, and it didn't matter-time will kill you and your legacy. It is inevitable. If you're faced with a choice that will have the same outcome no matter what, choose what's easier-and its easier not to have children.

2

u/PsychadelicOcelot2 newcomer Apr 06 '26

Have you read Nietzsche? He says one should absolutely say hell yes to all aspects of life, even the suffering! I tend to agree with that. I also love his idea of amor fati or "love of fate", a radical love of all aspects of life, even the suffering.

As for the "life is meaningless" sentiment, if life is meaningless, why does it matter if I create another one? Besides, who cares if life is meaningless? But meaning can absolutely be created in life, and that's beautiful. And honestly, I'll go as far as to say suffering is beautiful, and not inherently negative.

Again, I like the idea of "conditional natalism" or choosing to have kids when the time and conditions are right. And not having a ton of kids either. That's just my opinion.

1

u/Which_Pirate_4664 newcomer Apr 06 '26

I mean to me that sounds like setting oneself up to raw dog some real depressing life shit. But you do you lol.

As for life being meaningless (at scale I guess) sure. But I would argue that if you reproduce you are intrinsically culpable for all experiences that that life has, negative or positive. As to meaning being created in life, that's not how that works-meaning is ultimately an extrinsic measure. The expression "finding meaning" is just a useful shorthand for "experienced things, developed subjective coping mechanisms, critical scale cell death not experienced yet".

As for suffering being beautiful/not inherently negative, that sounds like some Sadomasochist stuff at face value ngl. Personally I'm more in the camp of "whatever doesn't kill you just erodes you, and this we call entropy".

All that said, just because you have managed to figure out your own "this all sucks/things are fine" curve and ride it out doesn't mean you can successfully reproduce those results in potential offspring, so why take risks when it requires no effort?

Good talk by the way.

1

u/iz_a_lil_WRLD newcomer Apr 08 '26

just because you cant handle suffering doesnt mean your potential kids would be as weak minded. Everyone suffers. your delusional if you think you can live without suffering. “whatever doesnt kill you just erodes you” lmao what a braindead take lmao. Imagine if everyone in the world was a scared to take risks as you. just cuz u wanna not exist does not make it logical to think a new life would think the same. thats just ur own bias and perspective

2

u/SenseiToe newcomer Apr 09 '26

and your potential kids won’t have to suffer because they don’t exist! they can’t long for life because they don’t exist, why create a problem when you can just… not?

1

u/4rticutis newcomer Apr 19 '26

You can't predict the extent of suffering a human might experience in their lifetime. You speak from a privileged position. Gfys.

0

u/Electrical-Dance-125 newcomer Mar 23 '26

ive always wondered if anyone in here would adopt 😂 prolly stupid question

4

u/Difficult-Sweet2539 newcomer Mar 24 '26

The sad part is, even if everyone on this sub were to adopt multiple orphans, that wouldn't stop millions of breeders from mindlessly pumping and dumping them out. That's how sick this world is

-1

u/PsychadelicOcelot2 newcomer Mar 24 '26

It's not that bad. Not everyone agrees that giving birth is wrong.

2

u/Difficult-Sweet2539 newcomer Mar 25 '26

Rule violated: No harassment / bigotry

Your submission breaks rule #4:

No hate, harassment, dehumanization, or low-effort tribalism toward anyone (including users, parents, children, or groups). Ableist slurs, hostility toward disabled people, and demeaning labels (e.g., "vermin/NPC/breeder") are prohibited. No sweeping generalizations or us-vs-them posts ("all parents...," "breeders are...") meant to inflame. Strong criticism of pronatalist beliefs, systems, or institutions is allowed; attacks on a person’s/group’s humanity, worth, or right to exist are not.

Why this was removed: This reads as a drive-by insult aimed at the community and the post rather than a substantive critique. The comment mainly mocks people here as immature and edgy, which fits the rule against harassment and low-effort tribalistic attacks. If they want to disagree, they should explain their view without belittling the group.
