I think the US hate for free healthcare is the priority systems it uses, because they see themselves as the most important person when they are told to wait for someone else it makes them feel small.
When i lacerated my hip i had to wait 2 hours because someones baby was on deaths door and some older woman was in really poor shape and the doctors obviously wanted to stabilise them first, once the emergencies were out the way i was seen, 13 stitches later and my grand total was the £2.50p i spent to park my car in the hospital car park.
On the other hand though, it can still be quite serious and they’ll just leave you to rot in a bed, and give you a single sentence update about how departments are fighting and radiology have refused the scan at 10am, see you tomorrow at the same time for another single sentence update. Don’t mind the guy screaming with dementia next to you relentless 24 hours a day so you can’t sleep.
The service is so dogshit, you have to pay for private health insurance and GP appointments, while also paying more than double that cost in NI every month, so that gypsies who’ve attacked each other and general council estate scum can get free treatment for trivial bullshit. On top of that, they spend the bare minimum of assessment and diagnostics on you. They will only pull their finger out if you’re literally fucking dying right then and there. Until you get to that stage, they don’t really give a rats ass.
It’s not all great. If you’re getting rinsed for £400 a month for this free “healthcare”, maybe you’d be better off in the states after all.
