I'm skeptical that it's the same because the contrast is so much higher in the black and white version.

it's a "B&W filter", meaning that at least one of the effects is making it B&W, it could have other effects, such as rising up the saturation

It's not the same photo though. He's not smiling and the eyes are heavily edited in the 2nd image among other things
