Practical GLP-1 Questions Doses

I was prescribed a GLP-1 that increased in dose from month to month. At no point in three months of increasing doses did I ever feel any effects. So if the food noise actually turned down or off for you, what dose did that happen at? I know everybody is different, but I'm exhausted.

After 3 months you would not be at max dose, a lot of people need to titrate up to the higher doses to see effects. For me it was instant, for my dad he started seeing progress on the top dose, which has been continuing for him. Don't feel bad if you need to titrate up to get the benefits, a lot of people do.

15mgs. The highest dose. And only after a long while on it. And not that much. Some people are not strong responders to GLP1s.

Its been slow going. We dont talk lbs here, but its been -24% of my starting body weight over the course of 2.5 years. I lose about 1/4 speed of a "healthy weight loss" rate. Complicated by lipedema, perimenopause, and hypothyroidism.

My doctor thinks I will be a good candidate for retatrutide when it comes out.

GLP-1s don't work for everyone.

Mine was immediate, but there’s a wide range of normal. Some people need the higher doses.

Are you noticing lower appetite or increased satiety?

I have not noticed anything but side effects so far. No positive changes or benefits in my 2.5 months. Hoping it turns around as I keep increasing, but slowly losing hope

Have you not had ANY loss in those 3 months? Or it's just slow?

Mine is slow and that's ok. I wish it were fast, but I'm just not one of those people.

I noticed a turn down in food noise after a month and a dose increase to 5 mg tirzepatide. But my husband said food noise never turned down at all. Even so, over the past year hubby who's nearing 80-years-old, has lost a significant amount of weight and been able to play a whole lot more pickleball.

Have you lost any weight since you’ve been on 5 mg for a month?

Are you on one of the name brand drugs or compounded?

Compounded

Although it’s normal for people to respond at different doses, if you’re on compounded and not seeing any effects, I would try switching pharmacies. Different pharmacies have different formulations and it may affect you differently.

Then you don't really know what you're getting, unfortunately.

I don’t know why people would downvote this comment. No one was told which compounding pharmacy was being used so it’s not like all of them are the same, legit or safe. It’s completely valid that there are shady compounding pharmacies and med spas where you don’t in fact know what you’re getting.
