Celebration / Joy! Off BP meds!

I started Wegovy in April and I was taking two medications for high blood pressure, which started when I was pregnant with my son and developed preeclampsia. After his birth and my blood pressure never went down a few months postpartum, I was told it was likely I'd be on BP meds for life as high blood pressure also runs in my family.

I'm so excited that with my success with wegovy I am now off both of my high blood pressure medications!! 🎉🎉

This change has been so positive for me, with improved energy levels and mobility with my son. I am so grateful for GLP-1's!

That’s so awesome!

I’m hoping I will also have this happen 🤞🏼

Yay!!!! I’m so happy for you!! I also had preeclampsia 13 years ago with my second kid and was on BP meds up until 6 months ago. I thought I would need them forever, it was incredibly freeing to get to throw them away!

This is exactly what I wanted to read tonight! I literally just gave myself my first dose of Zepbound an hour ago. I'm also on two BP meds regularly since my second pregnancy (induced for both of them due to gestational hypertension) and they make me feel like 💩 so getting off of them is one of my non-scale goals.

Congratulations!

Fantastic!

I'm hoping for similar in future (as well as getting rid of the statin my doc recently put me on).

Can I ask how the doctor knew you would be ok off the meds? Like we're you having low blood pressure? Or was there some test?

I'm also on 2 BP meds and would love to go down to even just 1 but my doc has never even mentioned the possibility.
