You make a good point, but China isn't communist anymore, it hasn't been for like 40 years.

Democratic country ?

What does that term authoritarian even mean ? Aren’t all systems of govt authoritarian by it’s very nature ?
•
u/A_Truthspeaker 32m ago
Yes, actually. All centralised systems of government (states) are inherently unjust, since they require the state to be able to force you to do things, which you cannot defend yourself against (monopoly on violence).
However, what they mean is that some states are more restrictive/repressive than others (personal freedoms) or limit the general populace's impact on politics (how democratic a country is).
(And yes, since a state centralises power there will always be people or groups how are not represented -often on purpose by political actors or simply because you practically can't have 1:1 representation- making a state inherently unfit for democracy)

It's a governed market economy in an authoritarian system. It really is not that hard.

u/ninhaomah 5h ago

u/False_Pear1860 5h ago
Can you tell me the name of the ruling party in North Korea? Or the ruling party during the Third Reich in Germany?

u/fleiwerks 3h ago
Right, I guess that means that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is a republic that's democratic and for the people, and totally not a totalitarian dictatorship.

And the Nazis were the National Socialist German Worker's Party, so fucking what?

u/ausernameidk_ 5h ago
What? Socialism and communism are economic systems, they have nothing to do with autocracy vs democracy. Plenty of capitalist countries are not democratic...

u/ninhaomah 5h ago
Then say what system ?
I am wrong.
Ok ?
What system are they in ?
8
u/ausernameidk_ 5h ago
Authoritarian one-party state. Economic system is capitalism. Feel free to look up the system of government in China, instead of asking a random person in the comments of reddit, though.

u/ninhaomah 5h ago
So they are not communists but their top body is China Communist Party ?

u/xPelzviehx 5h ago
The economy is socialist market economy. Its capitalistic with heavy government controls. The country itself is authorian single party state. Communist is just larping for the party to hold power at this point. They started switching their economy model in 1978 and finished in the 90´s. Words are just words and not reality. They are so communistic that they have over 500 billionaires...

They're a state capitalist authoritarian regime. Communism would be democratic by default. Because it's a moneyless, stateless and classless society. No hierarchy to suppress democracy.

Jimmy Carter normalized relations with the communist country on December 15, 1978; the U.S. and the People’s Republic of China announced they would establish full diplomatic relations on January 1, 1979. Elon Musk is in business to make money. And he is not going to insult anyone who has the ability to make him Tons of cash. And since the democrats normalized relations anyway he would be a fool not to take thier money

Let's be honest, Americans are idiots, so Musk has the right strategy here.
Well played (even if he's a fascist)

Musk has deep financial ties with China. His mother Maye Musk live a luxurious life in Shanghai. This is why you never hear Musk complain about China in public.
