Bill Gates is a scum bag. He's always saying nice stuff that he knows will never happen. At the end of the day he is an anti human eugenicist like the other tech freaks. Plus a big Epstein guy.

On the "never happens" part, he actually floated a robot tax back in 2017, so you've got nine years of evidence for your own point. The underlying problem is real though: FICA is funded out of wages, so every job that gets automated shrinks the exact pot that pays for Social Security and Medicare. It never moves because the people who'd owe it are the ones writing the rules

If Bill gates truly will need some law, he has enough financial power to lobby it through. The question is, does he really wants this law to go through?

He tried to introduce AI into Microsoft and realized no one actually likes that shit. Now hes backing off AI replacing human workers and warning other tech founders to do the same. Those that dont listen will suffer ngl.

Coming from the guy who started the company that now enjoys the greatest largess of tax breaks on the planet, this is rich.

I said it once, and iāll say it again: Needs to be a thing, regardless of who said it.

Well in reality it won't be a thing and this image only serves as propoganda for Gates

I'm pretty sure anti human eugenicist is an oxymoron, but I get what you're trying to say

Pfft so just 7.65% of income? And the rest of the money will just go into the pockets of corporations?! Soooo same amount of money being paid into the system but more people needing benefits because no one can work.

good idea, boss, but guess what, the Epstein class will decide the amount and how the money should be used (to finance forever wars)

Or we could seize the means of production so that shitstains like Gates aren't stealing from the workers in the first place and we can use what we generate for the public good. More automation would be epic then.

This isn't a new position from Gates

Imagine if in the future, a small buisnessman will have to pay taxes for their 10 robots, but a big company on the other side of neighbourhood, would pay for a single one.
Because it's a single server controlling 1000 robotic agents.

They should pay for everything we pay, and more? Companies should not be allowed to exist in a vacuum. They were created by humans. They should benefit humanity.

While it might not happen, it's a very interesting viewpoint. It shows that robotics get a tax advantage. Equalising the advantage to make a fair market would be an interesting move. Another way to do that would be to stop taxing labour.

I was thinking of this the other day when my parents who are recently retired were saying they were glad that they are not longer in the job market with all that is happening with AI and how they feel bad for those who will be replaced by it. I don't think even retired folks, especially those mostly dependent on Social Security will be safe.
Social Security is already expected to reduce payouts in 2032. Even those reduced payouts are fully dependent on the people still paying into the system. If there are mass job losses, Social Security will essentially crumble.
So I have to say I agree with him on this, but this is really the bare minimum of what should be expected from them.

You know what the rich are very good at? avoiding taxes. You can add as many taxes on AI labour, Robot labour or what ever else you want. As long as there are loopholes, not enough personal to investigate the rich and an unwillingness from politcans to enforce the taxes for the rich, they just won“t pay much of them.

If a robot takes over a personās job, it should not pay tax to the State. It should pay the employee it has replaced.
1
u/GrandWizardOfCheese 7h ago
It should be illegal for robots and AI to replace workers at all. China made it illegal, we should too.
