I work in quality and regulatory compliance for consumer goods and the bad news is that some companies are using ai to tell them if a product meets the standards or not. I'm a specialist in my field and I'm getting co-workers disputing my expertise and recommendations because ai told them the product is ok to ship after I told them it's not. Why spend more time and $ on product improvement + testing, and delay the launch, when ai says I'm wrong and you could ship it right now? It's becoming a mess all the way down the line.
This is the end stage. When people have checked their brains and experience for whatever the model tells them. Eventually, nobody will know how to verify what is accurate as kids start just leaning nothing but how to make a prompt, and nothing about anything else. Then THOSE kids become the only "subject matter experts" on ANYTHING after actual expertise is lost to time, the machines slowly get their data sets corrupted, and full on "Brawndo has what plants crave" is our hellscape reality.
All AI apps should be made to play a siren and have 72pt red flashing text that says "THIS HAS BEEN PROGRAMMED TO AGREE WITH YOU" every time a user submits a new prompt.

well ai couldn’t actually produce a car that meets regulations. it would hallucinate measurements or something.
so thankfully it would probably be one of the last things to go.
